Suspension of applications for CoreTrustSeal certification in November and December 2017

CoreTrustSeal Trustworthy Data Repository certification replaced the Data Seal of Approval (DSA) and World Data System (WDS) certification of Regular Members. Since July 2017, repositories applying for DSA or WDS certification are certified by the CoreTrustSeal. More information can be found at

Data repositories who already applied for certifications via the DSA or WDS websites will complete their applications on the DSA or WDS tools according to the CoreTrustSeal procedure and will be awarded a CoreTrustSeal certification.

Data repositories awarded the DSA seal for the period 2014-2017 or a WDS Regular Member certification will need to renew their Trustworthy Data repository certification following the CoreTrustSeal requirements.

Please note that in order to make a smooth transition from the DSA and WDS certification tools, we will freeze the DSA and WDS certification tools and won’t accept new applications during the months of November and December 2017.

The CoreTrustSeal online certification tool will become available by the end of this year.  From January 2018 onwards, repositories will be able to apply for certification via the CoreTrustSeal website:
